From tvinsider.com:

This could be a miracle baby on the one hand. On the other hand, is this baby now saddled with the same death date? Grace asks Saanvi the question, does this mean that my baby will only have five and a half years to live?

Why would the baby have only five and a half years to live? Grace is the one who's having the baby, not Ben. Either she got pregnant in Jamaica or she got pregnant after Ben returned. Unless she died herself, in lieu of having a miscarriage, the question regarding the baby having a death date should be moot.

Ben is Grace's baby's father ... genetically. Death is not in and or itself genetically inherited. If Grace or the child she's carrying died (by whoever or whatever is behind the Callings) after she returned home from Jamaica, then the entire premise of Manifest has manifested itself into a story that has completely "jumped the shark." The only relevant questions Grace, Ben, and Saanvi should be asking: was the baby conceived before or after Ben's return? And is the baby the mysteriously Holy Grail? Not if the baby (or Grace) has a death date.

Btw I thought S2E2 was one of the best episodes to date in regards to both seasons. Forget the ratings. Like millions of other Manifest fans, I was watching LSU win the national college football championship.

... is the baby the mysteriously Holy Grail?

Since I have absolutely no idea the time and place, or origin, of Grace's pregnancy ... and because the baby apparently already possess extraordinary "Calling" abilities ... why not add the following outlandish conspiracy theory to the mix.

In Jamaica, one of Grace's eggs was targeted and specifically 'tagged' in an experiment to be fertilized and later be born as a special child ... a child whose unique physiology would provide answers to life and death itself, i.e., resurrection, aka, the Holy Grail. Something went wrong. 828 accidentally disappeared for 5 1/2 years ... creating an infinite number of unknown and unstable outcomes. Ben had also been 'tagged.'

Anyway, after Grace had been 'tagged', she needed to get pregnant. Here is where Danny comes in. He is a secret operative working for the folks who 'tagged' Grace. His mission was to use every trick in the book to manipulate and impregnate Grace ... and deliver the Holy Grail. I know. This outlandish conspiracy theory doesn't fit either Grace's or Danny's storyline. But let's be honest ... what does?

On the other hand, it makes just as much sense as does a fertilized egg disappearing and reappearing after 5 1/2 years. Which is also another theory I really like. Whether the disappearing fertilized egg theory pans out ... or the 'tagged' experiment theory finds its way into the light ... why not? Sci-fi is not reality ... and reality is not sci-fi (or is it).

This comment could fit under at least two other forum topics; Theories on Grace's baby's daddy and Unanswered Manifest Questions. But I placed it here because Grace's baby is the central discussion point.

We assume that Ben is the baby's daddy because Grace is now receiving Callings. Like most things Manifest, the baby's biological father and the reason Grace is receiving Callings remain unanswered questions. The only way to prove "who's the baby's daddy" is with a DNA test. Correct me if I'm wrong; Ben Stone hasn't been identified on any DNA test as being the father of Grace's baby. And who knows if it's really Grace who's receiving Callings. It could be the baby. And once she is born, Grace could stop having Callings

When was the baby conceived? If Ben is the father; was the baby conceived before or after he returned? I'm going with after because if Finn is the father of Orlena's son, Theo; then the same rules should apply; and just like Orlena ... Grace would have given birth to a child around the same time as Orlena. Of course, just like Ben, no DNA test ever revealed that Finn was Theo's biological father. I get it. Manifest is a fictional TV show and some things have to be accepted without using one's critical thinking skills. However, Manifest is also a mystery involving puzzle pieces; therefore, the use of critical thinking skills are required.

I make full use of the incredible resources available at this site, especially the timelines. When times and dates are involved, I don't like guessing; and when I do guess, I want to be an accurate as possible. The timelines at this site, which were tediously constructed, reveal to me that when Grace told Ben she was pregnant, the story was about 49 or 50 days into the plane's return. Ben and Grace had sex for the first time 7-days after his return (Ben's timeline). Grace and Danny had sex 2-days later (Grace's timeline). Read comment here.

Two last points. First, it appears two requirements should be met in order for someone to have Callings, i.e., a blood marker and evidence of having an ischemic stroke (near-death experience). These two requirements are also used as death date indicators. Last point. Does the baby or Grace have both the blood marker and ischemic stroke indicators? Jusk askin'.
